Good morning QSI experts,

I have the TREQ-DX Mobile Data Terminal and I absolutely need the GPS information.
According to the manual it is sufficient to set the port to COM2 and the baudrate to 38400.

If I do so in the test window "MinTerm.exe", I get no data from the GPS antenna. But if I switch over to COM3 in the ComboBox, then I see the typical GPS Data stream in the NMEA protocol.

I have the suspicion that the TREQ-DX doesn't get the GPS information from the antenna but creates it's own because the GPS data appears after a while, when I started the panel-pc. Even if I plug off the antenna, the GPS data remains the same.

Where is the bug in this system? Why is COM3 in stead of COM2 capable to display GPS data? What must I do to configure COM2 to use the GPS system correctly?

Kind regards from Germany, Munich

Klaus P.

COM2 is if you're using the optional internal GPS receiver (not all TREQ-DX's have this). It sounds like you are using an external GPS receiver. If your using your own external GPS, it can be connected to COM1 or COM3, and COM2 will not be used.

Thanks for advice.

I am using the GPS antenna that was delivered with the TREQ-DX Terminal. Does that mean, that's an external receiver and my panel doesn't have an internal GPS receiver?

If so, what must I do to get the signal from the antenna into the panel-pc?

Thanks in advance
and kind regards from Germany

It sounds like you have an external receiver connected to COM3. Is this not the case? Do you have anything connected to COM3?
