QSI DVD ROM drives

Postby Jeremy on Wed Apr 26, 2006 6:42 am

QSI Corporation does not manufacture or sell DVD hardware or software.

QSI DVD ROM drives are manfuactured by Quanta Storage Inc. This is a link to their web site http://www.qsinc.com.tw/

QSI Corporation cannot provide support DVD drives produced by another manufacturer. If you Google QSI DVD firmware download you may find links to firmware upgrades for your QSI DVD drive. If you Google QSI DVD you may find links various support forums where CD/DVD enthusiasts help each other out with problems with their drives.

Edit: Redleaf provided the URL of Quanta Storage Inc's web site. Thanks Redleaf.

Given the number of sites that Google returns when you search for QSI DVD, it does appear that some other comapany called QSI does manufactuer DVD ROM drives for computers. This other QSI does not appear to have a web site -- at least I couldn't find anything that looked like an official QSI DVD drive website.

Re: QSI DVD ROM drives

Dear Jeremy,

my drive works ok with cd burning and dvd reading, however, it refuses to recognize dvd-rw. So I want to update my driver.

My drive is QSI DVD+-RW SDW-082 KPX38

I found this website for excellent driver download:
http://www.nurido.at/service/computerti ... enner.html

However, if I download the newest LX51 driver (also tried other sources, same error)
and open the file this happens:

1) need admin rights to proceed > ok
2) fwflash3M v4.7 OSI Dvd+-RW SDW-082KPX38 update F/W to LX 51 > update
3) error: the device does not match with this firmware

The OSI users would appreciate very much if you could offer us a driver update solution. If possible w/o errors and why not put it in this section of the official website? (http://www.qsinc.com.tw/qsi/Official_Download_en)

Thank you so much.

Dear Ceage,

We do not make or work with DVD hardware. You are confusing us with another company with a similar name.

Unfortunately we cannot provide any support on this issue, I would encourage you to contact Quanta Storage (link in the top post of this thread, as well as your own post) to correct this problem.

How do I connect my old CD ROM to my car stereo? I had the chance to ride with my brother's friend's car. His car stereo is fitted with a computer CD-ROM for playing music. I already have the power supply needed. But I don't know how to connect my CD-ROM to my car stereo which has an AM/FM radio and auto reverse cassette player. Can anyone help?
