Yark!

At the end of this application writing, its an RFID application, we scan a key with a PLC and read a text file to see which authorizations this key has got...

But anytime we do this, the modbuss communication fails.

In the end we found that the file is to big... but it only has 7K... maybe 150 lines...

We erase some of them... down to 10 lines... and then it works.

This is a very small file... we need to read it while communicating.

How can we do this?

Help!!!!

It sounds like your application may be busy reading the file for a long time which is causing the Modbus communication to timeout when finished reading the file. You may want to try using a Timer to read the file spread out over time so that other parts of your application still execute. Another solution may simply be to increase the size of the "timeout" property of the ModbusComm object. This defaults to 4000 or 4 seconds.

We have gone through all of our code only to find that we had an index of 40... so with these 150 lines of strings the error was from the code failing... hence the modbusTCP com error.

Now we load all the file into RAMs and scan through them when needed. It hangs the HMI for about 2 seconds. Its acceptable but we are looking into speeding up this process.
