Does anyone know if there is an Event regarding Sleep/AutoPowerOff on the G58?
I am currently using a G58 with a Galil DMC21x3. I want to be able to send commands to clear Ethernet handle on the DMC21x3 just before the G58 goes to sleep or the power button is pressed.

Any ideas anyone?
Regards
Tane

From my testing the MSG_SLEEP event does occur when using the power button.

Code:
'in globals
func Sleep ()
    handles MSG_SLEEP

    return
endfunc

Thanks Ron for the reply,
I had trouble finding anything relating too sleep in the online help documentation. Will this be updated in the near furture?

Thanks for the piece of code I'll give it a go see how it goes.

Have anyone had experience using a G58L with Galil controllers, and had problems with comms drop outs / timeouts???

Kind regards
Tane

If you do a Search of the word "sleep", you can find some related documentation, but we need to add more for the next release. See Help->Object Documentation->Search Tab.

Not that I know of, but others have had communication issues using other terminals until they got everything configured correctly. It's a matter of matching the baud rate, having the cable wired correctly, etc. Sometimes it's as simple as just adding a null modem to the serial cable. The G58L comes with one RS232 serial port with RTS/CTS pins. The pinout is documented in the hardware manual:
