I used to Qlarity environment to some time back to develop an application - Now want to add to this and I am getting strange copy-and-paste behavior.
When I copy (Ctrl-C) a parent object (in layout mode), I get two different end results -

If I have the child subtree expanded CTRL-V duplicates the child objects inside the original parent - and another empty parent is placed at the bottom of the tree.

If I do not have the original child subtree-tree expanded, I only get the new parent at the bottom. I seem to recall that this worked before, where parent (and child-objects) could be copied - it was not perfect, but it worked.

I do select the "Global" space after Ctrl-C on the to-be-copied parent

What is the proper procedure for this.
Thanks

Layout View copy and paste do have some problems. If you are using 2.50 you might want to try the latest 2.6 beta (http://www.qsicorp.com/engfiles, then select bleeding_edge).

I didn't get the chance to completely rewrite the Layout View cut/copy/paste code like I would have liked, but I did spend some time tweaking parts of it. The 2.6 beta doesn't solve all the problems but it does fix some of them. If you have a specific workspace that has problems in 2.6 feel free to either post it here or send it to me in an email and I will see if I can duplicate the problem you are seeing.
