Hi,

I've inherited a Qlarity project that uses qlarify.exe in a makefile, rather than Qlarity Foundry to build our application BFFs.

1) Is there documentation on what arguments qlarify.exe takes? Our makefile passes in these arguments and I don't know what any do:

-t keypaddef! charstr -t aggregate! string -a -s 25 -s 23 -s 19 -s 1 -s 8

2) The reason I'm mucking around with this is that we are trying out a color G55 (currently use the grayscale version) and if I build our product using the makefile, the appliication comes out in grayscale. If I build it using Qlarify Foundry and set the Hardware Settings to Color TFT, the application comes out in color. How do I specify this setting as an argument to qlairfy.exe?

Thanks,

David

The Qlarity Programmer's reference documents the use of Qlarify in Appendix C. You can download the manual here http://www.qsicorp.com/pdf/qlarity_program_ref_v2-4.pdf if you don't have a copy.

For some reason, Appendix C does not appear in the table of contents (I am investigating this now), but you can find it between Appendices B and D :).

For a quick summary of the options, you can simply run qlarify.exe with no options.

Thanks for the documentation, however, after reading through it, I still have my second question:

You don't.

The compiled binary for a grayscale application and a color one are identical. The color versus grayscale setting in Qlarity Foundry simply tells Qlarity Foundry which type of terminal it will emulate.

If your application comes out differently between the two compilers, I would investigate any #option and #if/#ifnot statements in the application.

If I understand your problem correctly, you are experiencing the following:

Set Qlarity Foundry to grayscale mode. Qlarity Foundry displays a gray application. A Color QTERM-G55 displays a gray(ish) application. Set Qlarity Foundry to Color mode. Qlarity Foundry displays a color application. A color G55 displays a color application. Now use the command line compiler on the same application and download to the color G55 and you get a gray application. Did I understand the problem correctly?

Yes, your understanding is exactly right. I will look into #options and #ifs.

Thanks.
