Hello,
i am new to the ix developer so i have a lot of trouble finding a maybe very simple option.
in my programm i have a lot of buttons in which are displayed the name of the operated valve.
is there any way to change this name when the program is running? for example log on as administrator and then edit the text?

if this is not possible i found out that you can create a textbox which is changeable with administration priviliges, but the new entered text is not stored when you switch between screens. so i need a way to store this new entered text.

is there any chance to solve this?

best regards

bastian cramer

Yes, create a tag that is not mapped to any address. Set it's "Data Type" to STRING. We'll call this tag ButtonTextTag. Change it's "Initial Value" to what you want the buttons text to start as. You might also want to check "Non-volatile" so that the edited text saves when you cycle the power. You may need to check "Other" so that you can see this column.

Select the button that is going to have the dynamic text. Select "Dynamics" -> "General" -> "Text". Map your button to ButtonTextTag and press OK.

Now you need to create an "Analog Numeric" control to edit this tag.

You'll need to change the "DisplayFormat" property to "String".

Select a "Security Group" for the AnalogNumeric if you would like to password protect the editing. Use the "Security" function to the left to set up user names and passwords.
